Global Leaders Converge in Marrakech to Move Beyond Conversation into the Era of Active AI Implementation
The fourth edition of GITEX AFRICA Morocco returns to Marrakech from April 7-9, 2026. Held under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the event has solidified its status as the continent’s largest and most influential technology and startup gathering.
The 2026 theme, “Catalysing Africa’s Digital Economy in the Age of Artificial Intelligence,” places transformative technology at the heart of the continent’s growth. The event aims to move beyond theoretical panels to focus on the implementation of responsible AI infrastructure and digital public policies that prioritize African sovereignty.
In alignment with the Digital for Sustainable Development (D4SD) Hub, the event underscores Morocco’s commitment to co-development.
- H.E. Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni highlights D4SD as a platform for sharing expertise and scaling AI solutions that align with local development priorities.
- The goal is to transform digital innovation into a structural driver for the continent, improving citizens’ quality of life through sustainable tech.
“This event is not just a showcase; it is a high-octane engine for cross-border collaboration, designed to scale high-impact digital solutions that will define the continent’s economic resilience for decades to come.” — Trixie LohMirmand, CEO, GITEX AFRICA Morocco.
For Amine El Mezouaghi, Director General of the Digital Development Agency (ADD), the event is a decisive lever for development. By ensuring convergence between international ecosystems and local realities, GITEX AFRICA 2026 acts as a strategic framework for co-construction, accelerating projects that strengthen local capabilities across 75+ participating countries.
