GITEX Global 2025 Highlights the Billion-Dollar Convergence of AI, Biotech, and Sovereign Compute
GITEX GLOBAL 2025 is set to convene as the world’s largest tech and AI infrastructure expansion event, uniting over 6,800 tech enterprises and 2,000 startups from 180 countries at the Dubai World Trade Centre from October 13-17. Now in its landmark 45th edition, the show is focusing intensely on sectors where AI ingenuity is poised to solve humanity’s most pressing challenges: biotech, quantum computing, physical AI, semiconductors, and data centers.
With the global AI market projected to hit a staggering $4.8 trillion by 2033 (UNCTAD), the event underscores the urgency of deploying AI for critical sectors, driving the world’s most ambitious infrastructure build-out.
The scale of this infrastructure expansion is highlighted by the focus on data centers, with global investments expected to exceed $500 billion in 2025 (BofA Research).
- Global Investment Leaders: O’Leary Ventures will be present, discussing the world’s largest AI data center industrial park in Canada.
- Regional Scale: Hassan Alnaqbi, CEO of Khazna, is set to lead discussions on whether infrastructure and energy policies can keep pace with “giga AI factories.”
- The Chip Race: The theme of Sovereign AI will dominate the AI Semicon track. Global leaders like AMD will present their Instinct™ and EPYC™ processors for demanding AI workloads. Jim Keller, CEO of Tenstorrent, will further address how semiconductors are becoming a geopolitical lever in his talk on “Taking Control of Your Sovereign AI Future.”
Biotech and AI represent one of the fastest deployment sectors, with spending projected to reach $1.7 trillion in 2025. GITEX GLOBAL is showcasing groundbreaking work in this convergence:
- Gene Editing and Cures: Trevor Martin, CEO of Mammoth Biosciences, will detail how their Nobel-winning CRISPR technology is utilizing AI to potentially cure genetic diseases.
- Neurotech Breakthroughs: Matt Angle, CEO of Paradromics, will deep dive into decoding thought with AI, following the company’s success with the world’s first successful computer-brain implant.
- Precision Medicine: South Korean startup HurayPositive will showcase its AI-powered SaaS designed to deliver precision medicine for over one million patients with chronic conditions.
The event also puts a spotlight on the most sophisticated emerging fields:
- Quantum Leaps: The GITEX Quantum Expo (GQX) will feature IBM unveiling its Quantum System Two, a major step toward large-scale fault-tolerant systems. Prof. Mark Thompson, Co-Founder of PsiQuantum, will outline the path toward quantum sovereignty, alongside the world’s first public pure-play quantum computing company, IONQ.
- Agentic Machines: The Physical AI track highlights the rapid growth of robotics, projected to quadruple to $94 billion by 2031. Key innovations include Tensor’s “agentic AI on wheels,” the world’s first personal robocar, and K2’s new humanoids designed for industrial environments.
Running in parallel at Dubai Harbour, the 10th edition of Expand North Star connects 2,000 of the world’s most promising startups with over 1,200 investors managing US$1.1 trillion assets. The showcase features over 40 unicorns, reinforcing the UAE’s role as a global scale-up hub. Highlights include:
- AI Supercomputing: Cerebras is presenting the world’s largest AI supercomputer (a G42 partnership), and Fluidstack is unveiling the world’s first 1GW decarbonized AI supercomputer.
- Futuristic Hardware: Xpanceo will introduce five prototypes of AI-powered smart contact lenses, advancing AR and healthcare consumer hardware.
“Future-critical sectors including data centers, biotech, quantum, and robotics are where AI ingenuity is converging with humanity’s most pressing challenges,” noted Trixie LohMirmand, EVP of DWTC, the event organizer. “GITEX GLOBAL 2025 gives new impetus to these transformative technologies, while continuing to be the harbinger of innovation-led progress across industries and global economies.”
