AI-Powered Tenable One Platform Leads Market with Proactive and Preventive Security
Tenable® (NASDAQ: TENB), a leader in exposure management, has been ranked number one for 2024 worldwide market share in the IDC Worldwide Device Vulnerability and Exposure Management Market Shares report. The company attributes its market leadership to its early adoption of exposure management concepts, supported by a strong partner ecosystem and channel-first strategy.
The IDC report highlights that Tenable One, the company’s flagship platform, unifies data from over 300 other security tools and Tenable’s own sensors to provide a single, AI-powered view of a company’s exposures. By correlating and normalizing this data and layering in attack path analytics, Tenable One helps security teams focus on the exposures that are most likely to be exploited.
“We believe seven consecutive years of market share leadership is a testament to the trust our customers place in our Tenable One platform every day,” said Mark Thurmond, co-chief executive officer, Tenable. He emphasized the company’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of exposure management to help customers prevent breaches before they occur.
The report also noted Tenable’s recent acquisition of Apex Security, which integrated AI security into the Tenable One platform. The new Tenable AI Exposure, launched in August 2025, provides organizations with unprecedented visibility into how AI is being used, where risks may exist, and what controls are needed to securely adopt generative AI tools.
According to the IDC Market Shares report, exposure management goes beyond traditional vulnerability management by providing a holistic view of a company’s security posture. It emphasizes the fusion of multiple exposure sources, including CVEs, unknown assets, and misconfigurations, to give a more accurate assessment of an organization’s risk. Michelle Abraham, senior research director at IDC, stated that proactive exposure management is the future, as traditional vulnerability detection evolves into a more holistic approach to risk management and remediation.
