Egypt is stepping firmly into the future of tech. Vodafone Business has joined forces with Cassava Technologies to build and launch Egypt’s very first national Artificial Intelligence factory.

Unveiled in Cairo, this strategic partnership brings advanced sovereign AI infrastructure directly to local soil. By leveraging NVIDIA’s accelerated computing technology, courtesy of Cassava Technologies, Africa’s premier NVIDIA cloud partner, the initiative aims to make Egypt a dominant regional powerhouse for data centres and AI investments.
The new full-stack AI infrastructure allows government bodies, key industries, and local enterprises to host, train, and process data entirely within Egypt’s borders. This local hosting guarantees strict adherence to data residency and regulatory mandates, dramatically boosting cybersecurity and data protection.
Key benefits of the initiative include:
- GPU-as-a-Service (GPUaaS): Organizations can now tap into high-performance computing capabilities more efficiently and rapidly than ever before.
- Economic Growth & Job Creation: The setup is designed to draw heavy investments, accelerate digital transformation, and unlock fresh technical career paths.
- Specialized Training: Teams across the NVIDIA ecosystem will gain access to enablement programs, ensuring local talent can effectively deploy, manage, and scale AI models.
This milestone anchors Vodafone Egypt’s ongoing commitment to the market. The AI factory forms a key pillar of Vodafone Egypt’s strategy to inject more than EGP 20 billion into the local economy during the current fiscal year, building on an investment track record exceeding EGP 125 billion over the last 28 years.
By combining localized sovereign compute with high-performance infrastructure, Egypt is saying that they are ready to contribute to the global AI innovation scene while maintaining total digital sovereignty.
