The world’s largest tech and AI event network is establishing a presence in a major economy.
The future of global technology just got a new anchor point. In a landmark announcement made at GITEX GLOBAL 2025 in Dubai, GITEX confirmed its expansion into India, launching the inaugural GITEX AI India event in April 2027. This is a powerful partnership that officially embeds the global GITEX ecosystem into India’s formidable digital economy, which is on track to hit the US$350 billion mark by 2026.
Organized by the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) and KAOUN International, this mega-debut is poised to become a catalytic global platform for India’s ambitious technological roadmap.
India’s ascent is undeniable. It recently climbed to become the world’s fourth-largest economy in the IMF’s World Economic Outlook 2025 ranking, and the government has set a massive target of growing the AI, semiconductor, and electronics manufacturing sectors to exceed US$500 billion by 2030.
GITEX Ai India arrives at a crucial moment to accelerate this growth. The event will directly support national initiatives like Viksit Bharat 2047 and the IndiaAI Mission, which are fast-tracking sovereign AI models across critical sectors like governance, healthcare, and manufacturing.
India already boasts the world’s third-largest concentration of unicorns, and this partnership is set to drive even greater cross-border capital inflows, trade collaborations, and knowledge exchange.
GITEX needed a location that embodied India’s tech leadership, and the choice was clear: Bengaluru, Karnataka.
The state is the undisputed tech powerhouse of the country, driving a phenomenal 42% of India’s total software exports and hosting the largest number of homegrown unicorns.
As Dr. Manjula N, IAS, Secretary of the Department of Electronics, Information Technology/Biotechnology, noted: “Welcoming GITEX Ai India to Karnataka is a defining moment. Hosting GITEX here is not just a recognition of our state’s legacy, but an opportunity to connect our innovation with the world and attract new partnerships that define the next era of digital India.”
GITEX Ai India 2027 is designed to bring the world’s most connected tech community into direct contact with India’s immense scale. The show will feature frontier technologies and strategic focus areas, including:
- AI and Machine Learning
- Semiconductors and Advanced Manufacturing
- Quantum Computing
- Fintech
- Agritech
Trixie LohMirmand, EVP of DWTC and CEO of KAOUN International, encapsulated the significance: “GITEX and India stand united in vision, innovation, and boundless ambition. The industry has long envisioned this powerful alliance, and today I’m pleased to say this partnership is realized.”
The launch of GITEX Ai India further reinforces the powerful economic bond between India and the UAE. With bilateral non-oil trade surging 34% in the first half of 2025, the partnership is deepening beyond traditional trade into areas like digital services, green energy, and AI. This positions the UAE not just as a trusted trade partner, but as a critical gateway to international markets for the next wave of Indian technological businesses.
The countdown is on for April 2027. GITEX Ai India is set to reshape the world’s tech trajectory.
