Powered by the NTT DATA AIVista platform, the new Service-as-Software solution equips insurers to modernize underwriting, claims, and customer service through enterprise-grade governance and human oversight.
Global digital business and technology leader NTT DATA has announced the launch of NTT DATA AI for Insurance, an AI-native agentic solution designed to transform complex core insurance workflows into governed, repeatable services. Built specifically for highly regulated insurance environments, the new Service-as-Software solution combines configurable AI agents, specialized insurance data models, workflow orchestration, and rigorous enterprise governance to maintain strict auditability and human oversight.
The platform is powered by NTT DATA AIVista, the company’s dedicated AI-native product architecture, enabling carriers to accelerate deployment while tailoring operations to their unique products, processes, and regulatory frameworks.
While insurance carriers face mounting pressure to expand underwriting capacity, accelerate claims processing, and reduce loss ratios, many struggle to scale agentic AI across their core operations. According to NTT DATA’s 2026 Global AI Report: A Playbook for AI Leaders in Insurance, while 86% of insurers support AI adoption in back- and mid-office workflows, true enterprise-grade industrialization remains rare.
Prashant Hinge, Chief Information Officer at MSIG USA, highlighted the operational necessity of these technologies:
“The insurance industry is generating more data than ever before, but better outcomes depend on how effectively that information is translated into action. AI can help insurers identify high-risk claims sooner, improve consistency throughout the claims process, and equip claims professionals with the insights they need to make faster, more informed decisions.”
NTT DATA AI for Insurance delivers a robust architecture tailored to the insurance sector, featuring:
- Specialized Models and Agents: Purpose-trained on domain-specific data to maximize reliability and cost-effectiveness.
- Built-In Regulatory Guardrails: Embedding compliance and deterministic, auditable outcomes into every agent decision.
- Proprietary Insurance Data Genome: Providing agents with the deep contextual understanding needed to interpret complex policies and submissions.
- Prebuilt & Configurable Agents: Enabling 3X faster deployment across underwriting, claims, and customer service.
- Event-Driven Orchestration: Seamlessly coordinating AI agents, human professionals, and legacy enterprise systems.
“Insurance is built on human judgment that understands risk, prices fairly and stands behind promises when it matters most,” said Bruno Abril, Global Lead for the Insurance Industry at NTT DATA, Inc. “The result is that insurers can move from AI-enabled workflows to AI-delivered operations, at enterprise scale and with the governance that regulators and boards demand.”
With a global footprint serving 10 of the world’s top 25 insurers, NTT DATA continues to cement its leadership in agentic services, recently recognized as a leader in the HFS Horizons: Agentic Services, 2026 Research Report.
