Deploying nearly a dozen wireless optical links across Lagos over the past two years, Taara and Liquid Intelligent Technologies are utilizing invisible beams of light to bypass fiber cuts, accelerate deployments, and reinforce network resilience for major Nigerian enterprises.
Taara, a graduate of Google’s Moonshot Factory (X) and a leader in high-speed wireless optical communication, has highlighted its ongoing collaboration with Liquid Intelligent Technologies, a business of Cassava Technologies, to dramatically expand high-speed data centre capacity for large enterprises in Lagos, Nigeria.
Over the past two years, Liquid has successfully deployed nearly a dozen Taara links across Lagos. These wireless optical connections distribute high-capacity bandwidth directly from points of presence at Africa Data Centres and other major facilities to large local enterprises, banks, hotels, ISPs, and utility providers operating beyond the immediate reach of traditional fiber infrastructure.
As Nigeria’s fastest-growing commercial hub, Lagos presents unique infrastructural challenges. Expanding dense urban networks via traditional trenching can be costly, time-consuming, and vulnerable to accidental fiber cuts that take days to repair.
To bridge these gaps, Liquid has integrated Taara Lightbridge technology into its network architecture. By utilizing narrow, invisible beams of light to transmit data through the air at speeds up to 20 Gbps across distances of up to 20 kilometers, Taara allows operators to establish high-performance links within hours rather than weeks—without requiring spectrum licensing or extensive civil works.

With Nigeria’s economy expanding rapidly in 2026, enterprise demand for reliable, high-capacity digital infrastructure has never been higher. Wireless optical communication provides operators with a powerful complementary tool to traditional fiber, ensuring network resilience and rapid customer provisioning.
Building on its success in Lagos, Liquid is now actively exploring opportunities to expand wireless optical deployments into additional key Nigerian regions, including Abuja, Ibadan, and Kano.
