After building Mobileye over 27 years into a global autonomous driving powerhouse deployed in 250+ million vehicles, Shashua will transition to a chairman role while the board conducts a comprehensive global CEO search.
After nearly three decades at the helm, Prof. Amnon Shashua has informed the Board of Directors of his intention to step down as Chief Executive Officer of Mobileye Global Inc. once a successor is appointed. The company’s board has initiated a comprehensive global search process through an executive search firm to name the next CEO, while Shashua has been offered the role of Chairman of the Board to focus on long-term technological innovation.
Founded in 1999, Mobileye revolutionized automotive safety by applying computer vision to global driving, paving the way for the modern advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving era. Today, the company’s technology is deployed in more than 250 million vehicles across 1,400+ vehicle models worldwide, with recent strategic expansions into humanoid robotics and Physical AI.
Reflecting on the planned transition, Safroadu Yeboah-Amankwah, Chairman of Mobileye’s Board of Directors, praised Shashua’s monumental contributions:

Throughout his 27-year tenure, Shashua guided Mobileye through historic milestones, including its record-breaking Israeli IPO in 2014, its acquisition by Intel in 2017, and its subsequent relisting on the Nasdaq (MBLY) in 2022, where Intel remains a majority stakeholder.
For Shashua, who plans to remain on the board and continue shaping the company’s technical trajectory, the transition marks a natural maturation point for the enterprise.
“For nearly three decades, Mobileye has been my life’s work,” said Prof. Shashua. “As the company continues to grow and mature, I believe this is the right moment to establish the leadership structure that will be best suited for Mobileye’s next chapter. Once a new CEO is installed, Shashua’s proposed role as Chairman will see him zeroing in on advanced R&D, long-term industry trends, and the expansion of the company’s emerging humanoid robotics initiatives. David Zinsner, Executive VP and CFO of Intel, echoed confidence in the company’s future, noting that Intel remains deeply bullish on Mobileye’s trajectory as it enters this next phase of leadership.
